Turn off the TV and Read: Lost Girl

Turn off the TV and Read was an idea we came up with to combine our love of television and reading. Each time we’ll take a different show and recommend a few books that are similar.

To try and keep with the Halloween theme of everything, I picked one of my favorite paranormal shows Lost Girl. This series follows the life of Bo as she enters the world of the Fae as she joins up with Kenzi, the clever sidekick never lacking in one-liners, to tackle problems in their investigation business and to learn more about Bo's past. It originally aired only in Canada on the Showcase channel, but can be seen in the US (slightly edited for content) on the SyFy channel.

Turn Off the TV and Read: Once Upon a Time

Turn off the TV and Read was an idea we came up with to combine our love of television and reading. Each time we’ll take a different show and recommend a few books that are similar. This time around I decided to do the show Once Upon a Time, which airs on ABC.

Turn off the TV and Read: Th Hunger Games Movie

This is the first installment of Turn off the TV and Read. So last week my friend Andi and I were sitting around on the computer trying to figure out what the hell we were going to do on our blog everyday and then in the middle of brainstorming she was like TV shows and books! I was of course totally enthusiastic about this even though I had no clue what that meant. Anyway she came up with this great idea about if you like these TV shows or movies, then you’ll like these books. So every Sunday there will be a new list out.
