Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Summary:
It’s cold outside, but it’s getting hot inside…
An unforgiving blizzard
Tom Castle ended up in the wrong apartment on the wrong day. Now a ferocious snowstorm has him trapped with his onetime crush and longtime regret, which is pretty much in line with his lifelong bad luck.
An unwelcome houseguest
Finn Carey has no choice. Although it’s tempting to let Tom take his chances on the streets of Chicago, she doesn’t want anyone to die in a snowbank– not even the man who hurt her so badly years ago.
An unexpected second chance
At first, Tom and Finn do their best to ignore each other in the close quarters. Then the power goes out, and things between them heat up as the secrets start to flow. Which will thaw first: the storm raging outside or the ice protecting their hearts?
Tempting Heat is the first book in Tempt Me, Sara Whitney’s sassy, steamy new contemporary romance series. It’s a standalone novella with no cliffhangers, so slip on your fuzzy socks and get reading!

EXCERPT:
Tom was hungover as hell, and the screaming woman wasn’t helping. He squinted in the bright light of the kitchen, so harsh compared to the dark cave he’d just left, and addressed the blur in front of him.

“God, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.”

As his eyes adjusted, he realized the blur was short, skinny, and brandishing a knife in his direction. He took two quick steps back and held his hands out in front of him in what he hoped was a soothing gesture. “Okay, listen, this is a misunderstanding.” His head throbbed, but he kept and kept his voice calm and even. “I just woke up, but give me a second, and I’ll get out of—”

“Tom Castle?”

Quietly at his side, Robin’s co-star Christine Keithley is his groupie
kryptonite, shielding him from rabid fans. She’s the one person who’s always honest and direct with him. But a dark secret from her past keeps her from giving her heart and soul to him. When Robin walks away from stardom, it means leaving Christine in the past as well.
Years later, they are reunited when an old foe comes to claim all Robin holds dear. Is life giving them another chance? The television season of ’72 is part of their past. After a lifetime apart, do they have the courage to rediscover their love?

EXCERPT:
1972

Robin Stewart had never seen the inside of Christine Keithley’s trailer before. Throughout most of the first season of Golden Gates Mysteries, his costar had barricaded herself inside, drinking gallons of orange juice and pleading a headache. If someone had asked Robin for his diagnosis, he would have said that Christine Keithley was the headache.

A small electric fan ran to dispel the midday heat. The whir provided a backdrop of sound, like a chorus, a running commentary on the undercurrent of awkwardness.

He was pretty sure he’d lost his pursuers somewhere around the three-tiered fountain in the old town square. But to be safe, he would stay with Christine until he was needed on camera or until the commotion died down. At the rate things were going in his life, that probably wouldn’t be until he turned thirty, another eight years—if he made it that long.

EXCERPT:

I needed to get laid. At least, that’s what my amber cocktail made me think—correction, my third amber cocktail. If the first two hadn’t murdered my inhibition, the third managed to land the final blow.

Minus my usual filter, my eyes wandered around the room, hunting for a man to prey on. The bar was packed for a Tuesday night. Waves of chatter encompassed me, creating a low hum in my ears. But I didn’t care about the noise, not when a particular delicious specimen held me captivated, with hair the hue of rich caramel sticking out in different directions.

Book Blitz: Submitting to Two Doms (Cowboy Doms, #5)

Submitting to Two Doms (Cowboy Doms, #5) By BJ Wane
Publication date: September 9, 2019
Buy Link: Amazon
Genres: Adult, Romance
Summary:
It was meant to be an affair…
After Kelsey is assaulted, her FBI foster parents plead with her to spend a few weeks with their friends in Montana while they investigate the incident.
Since she would do anything for them, she grudgingly agrees, wondering how she will pass the time on a ranch in the middle of nowhere without going stir crazy.
As soon as she catches sight of her two hosts, Greg and Devin, she figures: what better way to take her mind off her troubles than with an affair with one of them?
Ex-FBI agents Greg and Devin vowed never to get personally involved with another woman under their protection after their last case ended in tragedy. When their former boss asks for their help, the two best friends butt heads over how to answer him. But what with the insecurity reflected in Kelsey’s blue eyes, the desperation behind her flirtations, and discovering her submissive side, both men find themselves succumbing to the petite blonde.
While Kelsey basks in the dominant attention of both her cowboys, she continues to insist she can’t wait to get back to her life in Philadelphia. It isn’t until the threat against her is verified, the truth comes out about her past, and a few disturbing mishaps occur that Greg and Devin step into full protection mode, vowing to keep the woman they’d both grown to care for safe. And not until after the guys save her life, freeing her to return home, does Kelsey realize home really is where the heart is, and hers is in Montana with her two cowboys.
This is book five in the Cowboy Doms series, but reads as a standalone.
EXCERPT:

If possible, Devin would slam the sliding back door shut as he followed his soon-to-be ex-friend and partner outside. He was so annoyed with Greg for answering Jordan McAllister’s call he didn’t even spare an appreciative glance toward the two young women enjoying the bubbling hot tub. The nip in the air, a hint fall was sneaking up on them fast, did nothing to cool down his hot temper.

“I’ll have to discuss it with…”

“No,” he interrupted Greg, refusing to hear what favor their ex-government boss wanted from them.
Greg glared at him but his annoyance didn’t come through his smooth reply. “Yeah, you heard right, but if I agree, he can just ignore her. I need to think about it. I’ll call you back in the morning.” He ended the call, leaned against the rail and crossed his arms. Looking toward the hot tub, he stated with polite firmness, “Give us a few minutes, please.”

Book Blitz: Rites of Spring (Rites #1)

Rites of Spring (Rites #1) By J.V. Speyer
Publication date: September 10, 2019
Buy Link: Amazon
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Suspense
Summary:
Cameron has built a good life for himself despite his rough start. He can’t trust enough for romance, but he’s okay with that.
He’s got good money coming in as a graphic designer and just inherited a duplex in Plymouth from his estranged grandfather, so he doesn’t have to worry about keeping a roof over his head.
He likes his tenants, he has friends, and he’s content with that.
When two guys claiming to be paranormal investigators show up on his doorstep tell him the tenants contacted them about “phenomena” in the house, he knows they’re con men right away.
For one thing, they claim he was the tenant. He sends them packing. It doesn’t matter that one of the con artists is the hottest guy Cameron has seen in years – if anything, that just makes Cameron more suspicious.
Then things go wrong in the house, things he can’t shrug off or ignore. The past Cameron has worked so hard to leave behind is coming for him, and it’s angry.

EXCERPT:

Okay, if Cameron ignored his personality, Jason was everything Cameron usually went for. He was tall, he was strong (or at least looked strong), and the black leather jacket did things to Cameron that he’d never been able to explain.

He didn’t like the attitude. He didn’t like the contempt that he’d seen in Jason. Jason had clearly assumed that he and Reid could just walk up to him and say, “Boo! We’re ghost hunters, here to rescue you!” and Cameron would roll over and obey. Jason had a lot to learn about people if he thought they worked like that. Cameron had never been very good at taking orders, and the idea that someone was just going to come up to him and say “Do what I say because I said so” filled him with an irrational anger.
