Bookish Bakes: Wisteria Series Vanilla Biter Cupcakes

Happy almost Halloween! In honor of October and our 13 days of Halloween special I bring to you a spooky recipe based on one of my favorite young adult book series. Wisteria by Bisi Leyton is a dystopian novel that's based around a virus mutating out of control and infecting people, turning them into zombies or what people in this universe call "Biters". It's a really creative read and the biters are only part of the story. But the series is good and definitely unique.

Anyways, I thought this recipe would not only be perfect for the book, but the upcoming holiday as well! Enjoy.

Bookish Bakes: Twilight Strawberry Apple Cupcakes

I know half the people reading this blog right now are totally judging my Twilight love and hey, that's okay because I'm completely secure enough in my awesomeness to admit I really enjoyed the Twilight series of books. I couldn't put them down and wound up reading Breaking Dawn in less than a day. The movies were adequate, but never as awesome as the actual books. Then again, that's usually how things work!

That being said, my sister Nicole and I decided to make some Red Apple cupcakes based on the little apple trick Edwards does in Twilight. Enjoy the concoction below!

Bookish Bakes: Evermore Vanilla & Chocolate Strawberry infused Tulip Cupcakes

A few weeks back leading up to the BEA Expo I stumbled on a new feature from HuffPost Books in association with Book Expo America's blog, Book Bliss, called Have Your (Cup)cake And Read It, Too. We thought it was so awesome that we decided we wanted to do something like that too.

And then magical things happened and Bookish Bakes was born. (Or rather Andi our resident graphics artist made something awesome happen with her magically talented fingers.) Bookish Bakes will be any food, dessert, or drink we come up with based on a book we've read or are currently reading.

Our first venture into Bookish Bakes was done by my sister, Nicole, and I after reading Evermore by Alyson Noël. Since Damen is forever giving Ever read tulips and he's always drinking that red elixer we figured what better cupcake to make then a tulip cupcake with a nice red gooey center?
