Blog Post: Armchair BEA Day 6 - And That's a Wrap!

For some reason every time I write the word wrap I think of bubble wrap and start giggling uncontrollably like a 5-year-old girl.

But that's neither here nor there.

Anywho, I'm not sure if there's anything specific that was missed during these last five days of awesomeness. We didn't talk much about YA Paranormal books, but then again I think that was my fault. I went on and on about Dystopia novels because apparently the destruction of the world intrigues me lately. Probably because I was promised a Zombie Apocalypse and I never got one. :/

Blog Post: Armchair BEA Day 5 - So Fresh and So Clean!

How do we keep people coming back?

That's a big question for most bloggers, us too. Honestly, we just try to keep things interesting and updated regularly.

There are so many awesome features that blogs have out there like Feature and Follow Friday with Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. There's also Tune in Tuesday with Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands. Top Ten Tuesday with The Broke and the Bookish. And we even have an original feature here called Turn off the TV and Read.

I think one of the most important things though is to have fun and keep things relevant. Blog about something useful or something interesting. Reviews of books and products are helpful, but they're a dime a dozen so you've gotta ask yourself, why would people read my reviews? What does my stuff have that no one else's does? I think that's the key to getting people to keep  on tuning into your one woman (or man) show. Or multi-people show haha.

Lately we've been all about getting people involved and really developing a dialogue between people so we're going to start doing things a little more interactive to engage readers, which will hopefully bring them back because readers are awesome. ;)

Blog Post: Armchair BEA Day 4 - Non-Fiction & Me?

Believe it or not I'm actually not that big of a non-fiction reader. That sounds terrible doesn't it? It's not that I don't like non-fiction, I like it just fine, but I'm drawn to books by stories of the unknown and supernatural and crazy things of that nature. So basically I'm like a 13-year-old fangirling after vampires and werewolves.

Kidding...Sort of.

I'm sure I read some non-fiction books in school over the years, but honestly that was so long ago it's like a big old blur. While non-fiction is not my literature of choice there are two books I've read in the past couple of years that have stayed with me and that I love.

Blog Post: Armchair BEA Day 3 Giveaway & Life Changing Literature

Today I'll be giving away three books that I never expected to like, but that stuck with me and were all very Poignant and powerful. [sic] by Scott Kelly, One Pink Line by Dina Silver, and But I Love Him by Amanda Grace aka Mandy Hubbard.

Fiction & Me:

I read a lot of good books. Most of them can be classified as young adult books with supernatural elements. But every once in a while I step so far out of my comfort zone that I wonder what in the world possessed me to pick a book such an off colored book for me. It's when I get that feeling that I know a part of me is about to embark on a wild journey that will take me God only knows where and back.

That being said, the literature that has changed my life are the three books above. Sure I've got favorites that are classics or Contemporary Romance books, but these three here stood for something. They aren't necessarily about romantic love, but rather love for a child, love for oneself, and respecting yourself enough to get out of a bad situation.

Blog Post: Armchair BEA Day 2 - Genre Fiction: What a Girl Likes...

Today’s genre focus is on genre fiction!

If you’re a reader of genre fiction do you have a favourite author or series? And what keeps bringing you back for more fantasy/sci fi/horror etc? And if you don’t read one (or more) of these genres what is it that deters you from those sections of the bookstore? I’m also curious to hear why you think these genres often don’t get the recognition they deserve.

I Love to read. Picking up a book and getting lost in it is one of my favorite past-times simply for the reason that with a book I can go anywhere and do anything. I'm sure a lot of people feel this way, but I have to point out I get super attached to my books.

No, really I do. It's like when people are really into a TV show and they yell at the screen, that's me with my books. That being said my genre picks are incredibly erratic. I used to think I was mostly a young adult paranormal romance girl, and while I love, love, love the genre, I've found myself branching out more and more lately.

Introductions abound! :)

1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?

My name is Corina, I'm from Brooklyn originally, but I live in Jersey now and I consume coffee like it's going out of style. I'm a 27-year-old communications and technology major and I love, love, love reading. I've been blogging since September of 2012 and it's been absolutely amazing (And time consuming, but since I love it, I'm totally okay with that.) You know I'm not entirely sure why I got into blogging. I think maybe I needed an outlet; a place I could be opinionated and crazy while still making sense. Okay, fine sometimes I don't make sense, but still. I wanted a place to interact with people and connect on another level. I also wanted some experience writing reviews.

What about you guys? Why did you start blogging?

2. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?
