Introductions abound! :)
1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
My name is Corina, I'm from Brooklyn originally, but I live in Jersey now and I consume coffee like it's going out of style. I'm a 27-year-old communications and technology major and I love, love, love reading. I've been blogging since September of 2012 and it's been absolutely amazing (And time consuming, but since I love it, I'm totally okay with that.) You know I'm not entirely sure why I got into blogging. I think maybe I needed an outlet; a place I could be opinionated and crazy while still making sense. Okay, fine sometimes I don't make sense, but still. I wanted a place to interact with people and connect on another level. I also wanted some experience writing reviews.
What about you guys? Why did you start blogging?
2. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?
I am currently doing a re-read of one of my favorite books, Evermore by Alyson Noel, for a new feature my sister and I are going to be doing. We adapted the feature from the BEA Expo and Book Bliss's feature have your (Cup)Cake and Read it Too. We'll be making a special book themed cupcake to go along with our review of Evermore.
The second book I'm currently reading is for a blog tour. It's called Addicted To You by Krista and Becca Ritchie. I'm looking forward to it.
And lastly, but most definitely not least my favorite book of 2013 so far is The Hazards of Skinny Dipping by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Amazing!
3. Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
I love all kinds of arts. I paint and I can play simple songs on the piano. I took art classes for a couple of years in New York and then for a few months in New Jersey. And I took piano lessons for about a year. I also sketch, but lost my three framed sketches in my move from Wilmington, North Carolina back to Jersey. I still sort of wonder what happened to those sketches and if some creeper (or non creepy person should the case be) has them hanging up on their wall. If so...Can I have them back, two of them are sketches of ex-boyfriends haha.
4. Name your favorite blog(s) and explain why they are your favorite(s).
There are a lot of awesome blogs out there and if I named all the ones I liked, we'd be here for days, so I'm going to list my favorite blog of all time. The one that I literally drop everything to read the second something new is posted. The Domestic Rebel. I swear to god Hayley is awesome. She's like my girl soulmate and I don't even think she knows...correction she totally doesn't know haha.
I'm not going to lie, it's possible I totally stalk her website and twitter account for new posts, but in my defense she blogs about dessert! I love dessert! It's like my middle name. Anyway my secret love for her blog is not so secret. She's always very upbeat and even when she's not, she's always hilarious. Her blog posts make me laugh out loud.
Also...I mention the part where she has pictures and recipes for dessert...Right? ;)
5. Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?
Um...do you hear that silence too? Haha.
Kidding.
We actually just started posting more than reviews and promotional information here, so we don't have too many regular blog posts. I guess one thing I am sort of proud of is a column I had published in a magazine and our school paper a few years back. It's called Hopes, Dreams, Aspirations.
Uh, book themed cupcakes? Sign me up! What a fun idea :) You might also enjoy Claire at Bitches with Books book themed cocktails, which are definitely on my list of things to try.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Have you never seen that??? OMG you need to check out this video: http://youtu.be/_td8AcrH-UE
DeleteThere are a few I think. It was such a cool feature that we were like OMG we need it!...Or we need cupcakes LoL.
I will definitely be checking out the book themed cocktails. That's awesome! Thanks. :)
Evermore?
ReplyDeleteI really tried hard to like that one. But to no avail. Maybe I missed something. Nice to meet you.
It's one of those books where you either loved it or hated it. At least that's what I've gotten from people I've spoken to. There's not really an in between haha. Nice meeting you too! :)
DeleteI love your bookish cupcake idea!
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ Reading Lark
Thanks! It's really a BEA idea, but it was so awesome we had to have it! :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYour sister is a reader! I'm crazy jealous ;) The reason I started blogging in the first place was because my sister told me to stop posting so much bookish stuff on Facebook ;) Ha! She was nice about it...but still!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're enjoying ABEA!
Haha She just turned 13 and I got her addicted to the Immortal series of books that I read a while back when I was a little younger. But none of my friends read. :/ Hopefully I can get her to keep reading I made her read The Hunger Game series too, she enjoyed it.
DeleteHaha awww that stinks! But yay for book blogging.
I hope you are too! :)
