Happy New Year Day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had an amazing New Year's Eve and hopefully you're all continuing that into the new year. I've got to say while my New Year's Eve was fairly boring this year, it was a munch needed boring! Looking forward to what the new year brings!

So, who has awesome new years day plans?

Giving up is Good for the Soul

Ash Wednesday

Well it’s that time of the year again. Lent. I know you can’t see me, but I’m making a face. I get super grumpy this time of year because I always try to give up coffee and well…that never works.

Hurling into Oblivion

“I have realized; it is during the times I am far outside my element that I experience myself the most. That I see and feel who I really am, the most. I think that's what a comet is like, you see, a comet is born in the outer realms of the universe! But it's only when it ventures too close to our sun or to other stars that it releases the blazing "tail" behind it and shoots brazen through the heavens. And meteors become sucked into our atmosphere before they burst like firecrackers and realize that they're shooting stars.” ― C. JoyBell C.

Childhood Fairy Tales and Finding Prince Charming

It’s February again and Valentines Day is in exactly 10 days. I guess you could say I’m a bit jaded in the love department. Love hasn’t exactly treated me kindly over the years. I’ve had so many failed relationships that by now I’ve stopped looking and I’m perfectly content to sail through the days without a man by my side.

My Friend, My Hero

Superman has always been my favorite hero. When I was a child it was because I had an overwhelming urge to fly. To see the world from a vantage point bigger than my own. He wasn’t just strong; he fought for people who couldn’t fight for themselves. He was a superhero.

The Phoenix Effect

A Phoenix is a mythical firebird with a tail of gold and scarlet or blue and purple. According to ancient Greek mythology the Phoenix has a life span of 500-1000 years. At the end of its life-cycle it builds a nest of myrrh twigs that eventually ignites, burning both bird and nest to ash. From the ashes a new, young Phoenix is re-born to live again, old, yet new.
