HER HEAD ACHED. THE COLD air wrapped around her bare skin, and the damp earth was hard against her cheek. Amber slowly opened her eyes. Was she dreaming? She thought so. Their routine never changed. Smack the alarm clock for fifteen more minutes of grunting, snoring sleep. Grumble when the contraption bleeped its nauseating music again.
