EXCERPT:

Halfreda

I have been sleeping so much more than normal. I believe the dreams are sending me messages. I have such a strong feeling about this one – stronger than I have ever had before; I think she might be the one.

I know what people think when they look at me, half of them revere me and half of them fear me.
I admit I exaggerate my persona but never ever my powers. My powers are real. I know things and I see things. I see things that haven’t happened yet but will happen.

I know a person’s heart – I can see greatness and badness, trust or ill will. I know if someone is cursed before they tell me. I know if a woman is with child before she does. I know the private thoughts of people. Some people. Not everyone – some people are good at hiding their true self, blocking off the signals I pick up, but for the most part I can.

My persona is something else. I do have a little fun with the chanting – not all of which is strictly necessary. I enjoy staring at someone and then letting my eyes roll back in my head as if I have been overcome with some secret thing to do with them – that trick gets everyone in a fluster.

Kit
Piper.
My band mate’s baby sister.
The one woman I can’t have.
The one woman who won’t get out of my head.

I want her more than I’ve ever wanted anything
She’s too good for me. Too sweet. Too innocent.
She’s never even seen a naked man before.
I shouldn’t be the one to take Piper’s virginity.
But there’s no way in hell I’m letting another guy fill her with pleasure.
Piper
Kit.
The bassist in my brother’s band.
The guy I’ve been crushing on forever.
The tall, dark, handsome musician who keeps everything to himself.
He looks at me like I’m an innocent flower.
We’re only friends. We’re only ever going to be friends.
I need to stop thinking about running my fingers over the lines of his tattoos.
I need to stop wondering what his tongue piercing would feel like against my–
I need to get over him.
But the more I get to know him, the more I want to get under him.

EXCERPT:

“I was just kidding about you kissing me.” She sets her empty mug on the coffee table and presses her palms to her thighs. “I wouldn’t even want to kiss you if you’d been kissing that trashy groupie. Not that I’m judging but—”

“You’re judging.”

“Maybe.”

“I didn’t kiss her.”

“Oh, so you just told her to get on her knees and that was that?”

“Pretty much.”

“Oh.” Her cheeks and chest turn red. “Well, it’s just… if you want. It is a tradition, to kiss someone at the stroke of midnight. It’s good luck.” Her eyes go to the TV. “We only have a minute left.”
I’m tempted to spend the entire minute seeing how nervous I can get her.

Genres: New Adult, Romance
Watch the Book Trailer: Here
Summary:
Culter Fuller came back into my life on the day my mother died, as if losing my mother wasn’t bad enough.
We hated each other since childhood. Well, I hated him. He had a very different story.
When I moved to my dad’s house to finish my last semester of high school, we went from bitter enemies to. . . something else.
He was suddenly everywhere, occupying my space, determined to pull me into his life, filling me with thoughts I knew were wrong.
I knew that soon we would cross a line that should never be crossed.
I knew crossing that line could have very serious consequences; because Culter Fuller wasn’t just any irresistible boy, Culter Fuller was my stepbrother.
But, I was always very bad at making the right choices.

EXCERPT:

“If I think you might disappear on me, I’ll just be thinking about that all night, and I don’t want to have to deal with that shit. Just not worth going for me,” Culter said.

Wow, he made me feel like I was his odious chore, that was nice. I found it ridiculous that he was giving me a hard time about going off with people.

“Just go do your thing, Culter, I’ll be fine.” I might have put a fair dose of insinuation into my words, but the whole conversation was bugging me. I stood, gathering my makeup from the floor as I did.
“What’s my thing?”

“Like I know,” I mumbled.

“Sounds like you think you know,” he said. He stood too, stepping a little closer.
“It doesn’t matter.” I threw my stuff onto my bed.

He stepped in even closer, way too close, and smirked down at me. “Come on, I want to know. What’s my thing, Cassie?”
