Top Ten Thursday #4

This is adapted from Top Ten Tuesday, an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Top Ten favorite Young Adult Authors.

1. Amelia Atwater-Rhodes - I'm pretty sure she will always be mu number one pick for everything! I've gushed about this author every week since we started this feature haha. I absolutely love her writing to death. I can't tell you how often I re-read her books. If you haven't read anything by her, I suggest you definitely check one of her books out. The cover is my favorite novel by her.

2. Samantha Young - This is another author I adore. Her fire spirits series has to be one of the most inventive I've read in a long time and the great thing about it is not many authors write about Jinn. Samantha is actually the first one I've seen, so not only is her writing genuinely good, but it's interesting as well.

3. L.J. Smith - Vampires galore! I have read a lot of vampire books or supernatural books in general and she is seriously one of the best writers out there. With the exception of the last few books in the Vampire Diaries series (Things got super creepy with the writing) her stuff is amazing. I love her Nightworld Series and pretty much everything in between.

4. Darynda Jones - Death and the Girl Next Door has to be one of my favorite books of 2012. No joke. I love the whole Angels vs. Demons thing. It's been done a few times, but so far every rendition I've seen has the author's doing things differently. It's the only books I've read by her so far, but it definitely won't be my last.

5. Alyssa Rose Ivy - A lot of author's can write well, but there are only a few who can truly captivate and move you. Alyssa is one of those. Her novels touch me on so many different emotional levels and I can't begin to explain how rare that is. It's part of the reason that we do so many blog tours involving her books. They are truly awesome and if you haven't yet checked them out I urge you to do so.

6. Veronica Roth - One word, FOUR. Okay, okay, okay don't be judgy. Yes, I read this book for more than just the awesomeness that is Four or Tobias (see I know his real name!) There were quite a few twists and turns in this book and if that weren't enough I love the whole Dystopian category. The idea for this, in my opinion, was incredibly original. I loved the characters and the different groups of people. The way they were classified was interesting and then there was shocking information all over the place. I can't wait for the third book. Also have I mentioned Four?

7. Nichole Chase - This is another author who writes strong female leads. If you notice one thing about all the author's I like, they write badass female characters. Don't get me wrong I love me some mysterious hot guys too, but I love well written female characters. There aren't enough out there. I'm old school with my Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Spice Girl love, so give me a girl who can kick and look cute doing it and you've got my vote. And that's exactly what she does! Definitely check out her books and see what they're all about.

8. Alyson Noel - I love, love, love her Immortals series! I haven't finished it yet because I'm so bleeping busy lately, but I have two books to go and while I have those books in my possession I lack the time to read them. Boo!...Um I digress, she's a great author and her books really pull me in. I love Damon. I want one of my own haha.

9. Becca Fitzpatrick - Patch! I love Patch! I want to have his illegitimate Fallen Angel babies. Too much? She writes this series so well and so incredibly frustrating! Haha 90 percent of the time I'm on the edge of my seat with this series. I can't wait to see what happens next and oh my god the twists in this one, oy. If you like Fallen Angels and what not read this. It's great, though again I still have to read the most recent book. I have it sitting on my Kindle *sigh* hopefully I'll get to it soon.

10. Elizabeth Chandler - I don't think there are any books by this author that I didn't like. Every single one I've read I've loved to death. I just recently found out that my favorite series by this author, Kissed by and Angel, didn't end where I thought it would. So of course my mission in life is to buy the last three books in the series. I can not believe I missed that. I fail at life. I'm terrible. I should go back and hide under the rock I apparently live under. It's a great series though as are all of the series I've read by her.
