Though he’s just a supporting character in Grim, Jeff Wrage will play a vital role in the Sons of Darkness series as one of the main protagonists of the to-be-released sequel titled Wrage, which will be out this year.
While ace detective Adam White is hot on Heath Grim’s trail regarding the grisly murders at Prairieville’s abandoned mental hospital, a second killer butchers Jeff’s wife Stefanie and a group of Headley University students at a college dive bar. Jeff also learns for the first time that he was going to be a father, and that his unborn child didn’t survive the brutal attack.
Jeff suspects a man who’d virtually stalked and made threats in the past as his wife’s killer, but he’s got a crisis of conscience about giving the information to the police. He doesn’t think jail time is enough punishment for the fiend who slayed his wife. Part of him wants to take matters into his own hands. That dark side of him doesn’t want to stop until he sees the life extinguished from the eyes of his wife’s murderer.
Jeff, who co-owns a lucrative home security business, turns to his partner, Heath Grim, with his dilemma. Jeff knows Grim’s been up to some sort of personal vengeance scheme of his own, and seeks counsel on what to do. Grim feels strongly about what Jeff should do, but goes against his instinct at the request of a spirit which visits him and pleads with him to talk Jeff out of becoming a vigilante.
The decision continues to haunt Jeff as he becomes more and more withdrawn from his everyday life. Can he find it within himself to leave justice in the hands of the legal system? Or will madness overtake him and drive him to become a bloodthirsty executioner?
