Today I'm pleased to welcome author Lilliana Anderson to the blog to talk a little bit about something we all love...Hot guys!
Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to all of the ladies that work on this blog, for allowing me to guest post today! It truly is an honor.
When I got my list of blogs for this tour, there were so many guest posts that I needed to write that I decided to ask my readers what they’d like to hear from me.
This question is from ‘Sab, the Book Eater’ (no she doesn’t literally eat books, she devours them with her mind, lol!) and she wants to know how I created the ‘dreamy’ men in my Beautiful series.
Well firstly, I come up with a concept for a story, and slowly the characters start to reveal themselves to me. To work out what they look like, I close my eyes and start at their feet, working my way up until I have reached their full height (I love them to be tall because I’m almost 6ft myself) and assessed their build – is it lean?
Is it built? And then I concentrate on their face, first their eye color comes to me and then I can slowly see their other features and their hair color length. Then in my mind I can take a step back and look at this new guy and wait for him to speak, if his voice sends chills running down my spine – then I know I’m on to a good thing.
Personality wise, they seem to do that themselves. I write like I’m watching a movie unfold, scene by scene in front of me and sometimes my characters to things that I wasn’t expecting of them.
Take David for example, the relationship he has within the book was his own doing – I had no intention of adding that in until it unfolded in my mind and I went with it.
But always, the men in my books want to take care of their women, even though the woman is more than capable of doing it themselves – they want what’s best for her and they’re willing to fight for what they know is true.
