Book Description:

With a death starts a new beginning...

Eighteen-year-old Esmerelda thinks she’s just a normal girl, but all of that changes the day of her mom’s funeral, when a warlock, intent on using her special powers, kidnaps her. Powers she didn’t know existed. Thrown in the middle of a magical battle, Es struggles to learn her magic while fleeing both vampires and warlocks, at the same time, hunting for the witches that can help defeat her adversary. The only problem is that they are dead.

Thankfully, she has the help of Jarak—her Guardian—who quickly captures her heart, but she wonders if she can win his? Just when she thinks Jarak is the one for her, Ian appears with daggers drawn to save Es from a vampire attack. Ian is cocky and rude, but there is something magnetic about him—something that attracts her to him. With her heart torn between two men, she faces the foes that are out for her blood. Can Es do the unthinkable and awaken them from their graves before time runs out?

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know you wanted to be a writer?

I think I have always known that I wanted to write. Even when I was young I carried around a notepad and pen and jot down fun story ideas.

What inspired Wolf Spell?

Well, I have always loved the magical side of imagination. When I was little, I used to pretend my storybooks were spellbooks. Hahahaha. So with that, and the fact that I love wolves, pieced it together. I really wanted to write for young adults and hopefully let them feel the fun in magic. I also wanted to take out the werewolves and make something new, something that would be different. That is how my Guardians came about.

Which came first for you, the characters or the plot?

In this particular book, the characters came first.

Is there anything you found particularly challenging when you were writing Wolf Spell?

The first chapter! I rewrote that thing a hundred times I swear LOL.

If you could be one of your characters from any of your books, who would you chose? Why?

I have an upcoming book that is releasing next month in April called Ageless Sea and the main female character is probably who I would want to be. She is fun and has special powers, not to mention she gets a hottie too….

When writing Wolf Spell, was there anyone or anything specific that inspired the character Jarak?

No, not really. He always came across as a sad person and it was hard to break him out of that shell.

In your opinion what three words best describe Esmerelda?

Hahahaa…. Okay… Stubborn, fussy, sympathetic

Quickies:

Coffee or Tea?

Neither, unless it’s red raspberry leaf tea

Milk chocolate or Dark?

Milk chocolate

Favorite novel and why?

I LOVE the Savage Destiny Series by Rosanne F. Bittner. That is a series of books that captured me and I have favored and reread at least twenty times.

Hard copy books or e-books? Why?

Both. I love to hold the book in my hand and be able to smell it (yes I said smell hahahah) but having my kindle has made it easy to have lots of books without taking nay space up, and since I live in a VERY tiny house that is awesome.

What kind of weather do you write best in?

Rainy or all out sunny.

Favorite author and why?

Either Rosanne Bittner, because she has my all time favorite series or Gerald N. Lund. Both are very talented and amazing authors.

Author Bio:

If I am not producing magic potions, traveling to far off lands and falling in love with mythical creatures, then I am awake - tripping over toys, chasing my kids and conjuring ways to unknowingly booby trap our house for my husband. (Yes its unknowingly, I swear I never placed the tiny plastic army man in his path for him to find in the dark of midnight!) I love my husband and my four wonderful children (all of whom help with the booby traps!) We are Nevadians and are happy, although I envy and miss the beautiful mountains of Idaho. I love writing Young Adult and Adult Fantasy and Paranormal with Romance, although you never know what could show up in my books!
