Just when I think Alyssa Rose Ivy’s books can’t get any better, she proves me wrong. Wrecked, the third book in the Clayton Falls series is honest, real, and completely breathtaking. I love how Jake’s story is completely different from Ben and Gavin’s. I have such a love for series that intersect each other and bring back characters you know and love. And since I always enjoyed Jake and his witty banter, getting to know his character better was fun.

Ivy has a tendency to write about real life issues and that aspect of her writing makes her stories incredibly believable and her characters relatable. Wrecked is no different. After getting into a fight with Ben, Jake takes off, gets drunk and drives. The next thing we know his jeep is flipping over and the world turns black.

I never saw Jake as the kind of character that had a drinking problem, but as I look back at the other books I realize the foreshadowing was all there. Ivy did an amazing job of showing us what was going on in everyone’s head while Jake was in the hospital. I love how perspectives changed throughout the book. Ivy always does a spectacular job of showing us what’s going on in the heads of both main characters, which of course brings us to Emily.

I adored Emily. I knew from the second she dreamt about Jake that they were going to be epic. Her story is a lot more somber than Jakes, but I really love how meeting each other helps them each heal and become the people they wanted to be. There were a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, but that’s one of the great things about Ivy, she certainly knows how to draw a reader in.

It was nice getting to see Ben and Molly as well as Gavin and Becca. Getting a peak into their lives was really awesome. I think what I loved most of all were the interactions between Jake and Emily though. They are perfect together and though a lot happens in this book and things try to keep them apart, eventually everyone ends up where they belong.

If you enjoyed Derailed and Veer I have no doubt Wrecked will knock you off your feet. I’d highly recommend this book; Ivy is one of the best writers I’ve had the pleasure to read in a long time.
