Book Description:
My name is Maggie Raynard. After sixteen years being just plain me, suddenly, when I lose my temper, my fingers become weapons of mass destruction.
Turns out I'm a semi-god, descended from Aphrodite. Sounds cool in theory, but when I accidentally put my ex-boyfriend in a coma, things go downhill pretty fast.
Now some new guy named Mac Finnegan has made it his mission in life to continually piss me off. I'm stuck learning how to use my new powers while also dealing with regular high school problems, and with this annoying and super-hot—guy all up in my business, I'm about to flip out.
But it gets worse. I just learned there's this watchdog council of semis who keep an eye out for any bad apples. They think I'm the baddest one in the bunch and want to take me out before I do any more damage. My nemesis Mac might turn out to be my salvation, only he's got secrets of his own...and they may just kill us both.

Book Description:
A little sin can be deadly...
Jessie Darker goes to high school during the day, but at night she helps with the family investigation business.
Cheating husbands and stolen inheritances? They’re your girls—but their specialty is a bit darker. Zombie in your garage? Pesky Poltergeist living in your pool? They’ll have the problem solved in a magical minute. For a nominal fee, of course...
When gorgeous new client, Lukas Scott, saunters into the office requesting their help to find a stolen box, it sounds like a simple case—until the truth comes out. The box is full of Sin.
Seven deadly ones, in fact.
They’ve got five days to recapture the Sins before they're recalled by the box, taking seven hijacked human bodies with them. Easy peasy—except for one thing...
There’s a spell that will allow the Sins to remain free, causing chaos forever. When the key ingredient threatens the life of someone she knows, Jessie must make the ultimate choice between love and family—or lose everything.
Exclusive Interview with Maggie Raynard
Describe yourself in five words.
Screwed. Hosed. In deep doodoo.
What would you say your biggest strength is?
Before, I would’ve said the ability to roll with the punches and stay strong, but lately? Not so much.
Give us a defining moment in your life?
That time six months ago, back when I still thought I was normal and woke up levitating in my bed only to find out that I’m a semi-god. Not cool.
Do you like late nights or early mornings?
Late nights.
Are there people who actually say early mornings here? I feel like those are the same people who pretend to love sushi, or running…like, clearly that can’t be true…?
Favorite subject in school? Least favorite?
Favorite= English. I like to read. And write. Least favorite= Art. No question. I have a sold D+ right now, and even that’s only because we got to do a couple partner projects. Normally, my art skills are about like what the average persons’ might be if they did it wearing oven mitts.
Cookie or cake?
Yes. Both. Please. As long as it’s not, like, some fakeout cookies or cake. (See “carrot” or “oatmeal raisin” where they try to trick you into eating healthy stuff by burying it in something delicious, thereby offsetting all the deliciousness with their treachery. Because that’s some sneaky BS).
What kind of boys do you like?
Nope. I’m off guys. And not in that fake, I-say-that-but-deep-down-I-really-want-a-boyfriend kind of way, but in, like, the seriously-I’d-rather-eat-maggoty-cheese kind of way. No relationships. Not for me. Not now and maybe not ever. Who I am…what I am, and what I’m capable of? Everyone’s better off this way.
What do you think of the new kid, Mac Finnegan?
Honestly? He makes me want to lick him like an ice cream cone and then immediately rinse my mouth out with acid. When he's around, I can't wait to get away from him, but when he's not? I can't stop thinking abou-- *pauses* *shakes head* Meh. Next question.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to dance, and go to the movies with my friends Libby and Bink. It also makes me really happy to write my advice column, That's What She Said. I don't know if I'm really helping people with their problems or not, but it makes me feel like I am…
And last but not least, if you could pick a superpower, what would it be?
Well, I can tell you what it wouldn't be. It wouldn't be to have the ability to kill, maim or terrorize people with my touch, that's for sure. I'd trade that in for just about anything else. Even if it was something super-lame, like having breath that perpetually smells like vanilla frosting. That would be nice. If I forget to brush my teeth, who cares? I'd still smell like the stuff dreams are made of.
