Book Description:

Wes Elliott just met his match…and she might actually burn his entire world down.

Surfing and sex. This is Wes Elliott's life. And it's just the way he likes it. ` After seeing his parents stay in a loveless marriage his entire life, and burying away a heartbreak from his past, he knows where romance is best left: crappy chick movies. He'd rather lust and eventually leave, and that's exactly what the plan was when he met Lana Langston.

Except…turns out she’s only in it for the thrills, too. She's always only in it for the thrills: life in the literal fast lane on her motorcycle, and the hot nights in forbidden places without the awkward talks in the mornings after. She's Wes Elliott in way tighter jeans.

So, this should be perfect, right?

But the more time Wes spends with her, the more he wants the nights to turn into mornings. And maybe even longer. Suddenly, it isn't so perfect for him anymore. And the things he thought were buried are digging themselves up.

Now Wes is in a lot of trouble.

He’s falling in love with the one girl who might be a bigger risk than even a guy who gets barreled by the most dangerous waves in the world is willing to take on.

Can Wes and Lana figure out a way to make it work? Or is he headed for something far more reckless?

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know you wanted to be a writer?

Honestly, there’s not a single time in my life when I didn’t have the interest.

What inspired Recklessly?

I attended a surfer’s movie premiere three years ago after befriending his manager, and I completely fell in love with the lifestyle…and hot surfers.

Which came first for you, the characters or the plot?

The plot.

Is there anything you found particularly challenging when you were writing Recklessly?
Yes. Many people read fiction for escapism, but I like to write about real (sometimes gritty) feelings and situations, and often it’s not all rainbows and cute kittens when I’m done. So, just balancing my need to tell a real story and keeping those romantic (both in the literal and figurative sense) fictional elements.

Also, I’m not very good at shutting myself off. I could write forever. Some may say I’m wordy but I embrace it wholly.

If you could be one of your characters from any of your books, who would you chose? Why?

Probably Dylan from Documentary. She was super focused on her dream of becoming a filmmaker and chasing it full speed ahead. I’m a total slacker LOL.

When writing Recklessly, was there anyone or anything specific that inspired the character Wes?

Wes is a combo of some of my guy friends, and honestly, he’s how I wished more guys viewed casual sex.

In your opinion what three words best describe Lana?

Trouble. Weak. Laid-back.

Quickies:

Coffee or Tea?

Coffee

Milk chocolate or Dark?

Milk chocolate

Favorite novel and why?

The Beach by Alex Garland because I enjoy books that show human nature at its worst.

Hard copy books or e-books? Why?

E-books. They’re much easier to carry! =)

What kind of weather do you write best in?

Sunny!

Favorite author and why?

Stephen King. I just really like the dark stuff but I also love that he goes so much deeper into human nature and religion and all kinds of other things.

If you could turn one book or series into films, what would you pick and who would you cast as the main characters?

Every book I would put here has already been turned into a movie. I suppose that’s not a bad thing though.
