Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, has returned to New Orleans, the city his family helped build, the city from which he and his siblings – Elijah and Rebekah – were exiled a century ago by their relentless hunter father. Drawn back by a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter, Klaus is surprised that the city still feels like home to him despite the decades he’s been away.

Curious as to why Klaus would return to the one place he swore he would never set foot again, Elijah follows his brother and learns that the beautiful and rebellious werewolf Hayley – Klaus’ onetime flame – has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history. Hayley has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie Deveraux. When Sophie reveals to the brothers the almost unbelievable news that Hayley is carrying Klaus’ unborn child, Elijah realizes that the Original family has been given a second chance at humanity and the redemption they desperately crave.

I am thoroughly enjoying the witches. Monique Deveraux is resurrected. Bastianna puts a hex on the priest Kieran. Sabine poisons Elijah with a kiss. All in the name of revenge.

Klaus seeing Papa Tunde's dead body knows the witches are declaring war.

Rebekah escorts Hayley to the plantation home to keep her safe. Marcel tells Rebekah that the redhead witch Genevieve from their past has returned.

Elijah seeks out Sabine and they talk. She tells him there will be no peace with Klaus involved. Sophie confesses her weakness to Monique which becomes her undoing in the end.


Klaus tried to help Kieran at Cami's urging, but his compulsion didn't work. So the priest is still going to suffer by going mad. The party commences at the plantation. Rebekah is lured in by Oliver, a hunky blond. Hayley meets Jackson who tells her their history. She was suppose to be his wife.

Elijah finally connects Sabine to being Celeste and after the enchanting kiss she explains her plan. Klaus, Rebekah and Hayley will all be in danger simultaneously and when he recovers he will only have time to save one of them. Who will he choose?

Klaus takes Monique to lure out the witches. Marcel follows to try and stop him. They fight, but Klaus is stronger and breaks his neck. Sophie with a surprise attack daggers Klaus with Papa Tunde's knife. He screams in agony as the dagger pulls itself inside of Klaus' body. He passes out and Bastianna takes over his handling.

Jackson continues to explain to Hayley their family connection. How NOLA use to be their playground until the vampires and the curse on them. He was told she was the one to end the curse by her witch friend who told Eve, but Hayley is clueless as to which witch friend.

Rebekah is with Oliver in the woods, but he betrays her to a pack of wolves.

Celeste, Bastianna and Genevieve are at the cemetery starting a spell to trap Hayley and Jackson in a burning house. Elijah rescues her and she asks him to go back for Jackson, he does. Genevieve comes for Rebekah who is bleeding out from her wolf ambush. Elijah arrives too late and finds dead wolves and Rebekah's bloody jacket left behind. Celeste is there and is confident he will not attack her. Especially since she is the only one to break the curse on Hayley's pack, Genevieve knows where Rebekah is and Bastianna has Klaus. She taunts him telling him that Klaus is suffering all because he chose to save the little wolf instead of his blood. Elijah stride towards her her, but she subdues him.

Jackson has to leave because the full moon is almost done with. Hayley thanks him for protecting her all this time. He's disappointed in the way they met and she promises that she won't stop trying to break the curse.

Cami is on the phone trying to reach Klaus, but Bastianna appears and tells her that Klaus is indisposed. She tells Cami that someone else completed her task of daggering Klaus. Cami has the nerve to tell Bastianna to release Kieran from the curse, but the witch tells her that she didn't hold up her end of the bargain so no deal. She informs Cami to take heed of her Uncle's wrong doing in choosing to align himself with evil. That the witches of The French Quarter will rise again.

Elijah arrives back at the compound pissed off. Marcel lets him know they can't find Klaus and he in turn tells him they got Rebekah as well. Elijah looks around at all present and demands they help him to find his siblings so that he can kill them all. Sophie is preparing to leave, but Monique isn't going with her. She kills Sophie because she lost her faith and didn't believe. Monique walks away joining Celeste, Bastianna and Genevieve.
