Damon believes Stefan is staying away because it would be too painful for him to see Damon and Elena as a couple, but Elena can’t escape the uneasy feeling that Stefan needs their help. While Elena is reluctant to leave Damon and Jeremy, she is also thrilled to be heading off to a new start at nearby Whitmore College with Caroline as her roommate. Still unaware that Bonnie is dead, Elena and Caroline are waiting for their friend to join them at college. Jeremy is the only one who can see and talk to Bonnie who is trapped on the Other Side.

The truth is out and the Mystic Falls Scooby Gang know Katherine has been travelling in Elena's body. They devise a plan to get her to the boarding house, but Katherine is dealing with Nadia being bitten by Tyler. She enlists Dr. Wes' help to create an antidote. Only the not-so-good doc has other plans.
Damon is still chained up in the basement, but not for long. While Tyler is babysitting Damon antagonizes him bringing up Caroline and Klaus. That has him falling into Damon's trap and he's able to feed off Tyler then knock him out and escape. He finds Dr. Wes and kills him
When the gang can't get Katherine to come of her own free will Damon suggests they do a locater spell. Bonnie and Jeremy go in search of Liv to help them and she flirts with Jeremy, but does locate Katherine in a church. Stefan takes Nadia back home.
He calls Katherine on Nadia's phone, tells her he has Nadia and to prove it he puts Nadia on the phone. Who then tells her mother to run. Stefan knows that's what Katherine does best,but tells her to come home and see her daughter before she dies.
I loved the scenes between Matt and Nadia. He holds her hand and she thinks it's Gregor and asks him for forgiveness and Matt gives her that bit of solace.
What is up with everyone coming into to watch Nadia suffering?
Katherine comes to Nadia. She is lucid for a bit then starts to hallucinate. Katherine then gives her a nice memory of them living together in a cottage, a perfect day together. Katherine tells her to sleep well and that her mother loves her. Nadia dies. Bonnie is there to help pass to the other side.
It's Katherine's turn to go. Matt, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler, Jeremy, Stefan and Damon all hear who try to figure out who has the honor of stabbing her with The Traveller's knife. It's Stefan who stabs her and she leaves Elena's body for good. Oh and Katherine totally stole my line saying see you on the flip side too!!! Stefan and Damon wait for Elena to wake up.
Caroline tells Tyler she's sad about what happened. He says it's because she sees the good in people. She knows he's talking about Klaus and tells him that he can either get over it or get out of her life. She's done feeling guilty for sleeping with Klaus. Bonnie's alone in the church when Katherine comes to her and explains what she did with Dr. Wes' "antidote".
He wasn't helping Nadia at all. He was still doing his experiment by extracting the wolf venom from Nadia's blood and enhancing the ripper virus. So Katherine not wanting Elena to have her happy life back shoots herself up with the new ripper virus. Only now Elena will have to deal with the aftermath. Katherine touches Bonnie thinking she'd cross over, but nothing happens. The wind blows and Katherine is pulled by some unseen force out of the church and into the darkness.
