I had already read the first three books in the "Touched" series so I was excited when I heard that the fourth book was out and ready to review. "Centaur Redemption" is meant to be the final book of the series (although there is still room to continue on with new books about these characters), and I was excited to see how Cami and Drake's journey in the world of Centaurs was going to come to a resolution.

"Centaur Redemption" begins right where the third book left off. Cami and her family are about to leave and go and address the Centaur council in order to ask for her family's safety. Cami is part of the Tak herd, which is referred to as "The Lost Herd" because centuries ago Zeus had decreed that every member of the Tak family be killed so that the line would be wiped out. However, another god of Olympus had interfered and worked to hide a Tak member, so the line lived on. Cami wants to go and hopes that she can make the other centaurs see sense, instead of just blindly pursuing her family.

Since this book literally starts off where the last left off, they are definitely not stand alone books. The "Touched" series is pretty much just one long story that's split in four books, so in order to get everything you need from the story, you really have to start the series from the beginning. There isn't much "previously on" exposition to catch a new reader up, so I recommend checking out books 1-3 before you start "Centaur Redemption".

Overall, I was pleased with this conclusion book. A lot of questions that were posed throughout the series were answered, and the characters were able to get the resolutions that they were craving. There were also more personal appearances from the gods that we've been hearing about, and I personally thought that was cool. I'm a sucker for Greek mythology, so anytime the gods are involved, I'm going to be intrigued.

Even though I did enjoy the book, there were still some parts that I was side-eyeing a bit. There are some changes of hearts and character development that I think moved a little fast. One of the characters seems to make a complete turn around with how they act towards Cami as well as their overall demeanor, and I thought there should have been more work involved in that considering the character's past actions.

There were also some times when I wanted to jump into the pages and punch Cami. Even though she is totally knew the Centaur society (she just found out about it when her mother recently died and she told Cami who her father was), she approaches every situation like she knows better than everyone else. Her family is telling her that one way is the best course of action, but she has to be stubborn and will only do what she thinks is right. I would have liked to see her bend a little instead of acting like a spoiled know-it-all.
I also think that the book would have benefited from one more chapter or an epilogue. While there was an ending with the resolutions we needed, it still didn't come across as finished when I read the last page. I think with a few more pages, or one more chapter things could have ended a lot smoother.

Even with the few things I have problems with, I would still recommend "Centaur Redemption" as well as the entire "Touched" series. There are twists and turns throughout the book that keep you turning the pages, wanting more, and it's an entertaining subject matter that's unique and interesting to read about.
