13 Days of Halloween: Movie Fix

We all have a list of movies we like to watch as Halloween nears. Don't lie, you know you do too. Halloween brings out the spooky in us. So below is my list of movies that I like to watch leading up to and on Halloween.

1. Nightmare Before Christmas - Bored with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere.

2. Hocus Pocus - After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teen-agers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches' reign of terror once and for all.

3. Scream - A masked killer begins murdering teenagers in a small town, and as the body count rises, one girl and her friends contemplate the "rules" of horror films as they find themselves living in a real-life one.

4. Edward Scissorhands - An uncommonly gentle young man, who happens to have scissors for hands, falls in love with a beautiful adolescent girl.

5. Practical Magic - Sally and Gillian Owens have always known they were different. Raised by their aunts after their parents' death, the sisters grew up in a household that was anything but typical--their aunts fed them chocolate cake for breakfast and taught them the uses of practical magic. But the invocation of the Owens' sorcery also carries a price--some call it a curse: the men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death. Now adult women with very different personalities, the quiet Sally and the fiery Gillian must use all of their powers to fight the family curse and a swarm of supernatural forces that threatens the lives of all the Owens women.

6. Halloween - A psychotic murderer institutionalized since childhood for the murder of his sister, escapes and stalks a bookish adolescent girl and her friends while his doctor chases him through the streets.

7. The Exorcist - When a teenage girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter.

8. The Shinning - A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.
