Book Description:

Charlie is a passionate, sensually-inspired art student, desperately seeking an escape from the abusive past that haunts her and a tragic accident that emptied her heart. Scarred and unable to love, her yearning for physical pleasure leads her into a tantalizing, dangerous world of power and seduction.

The anonymity of the deal offers security; the money brings financial freedom and the madam is the mother figure she longs for.

But the thrill of the mansion and its arousing dominance quickly fades when she meets renowned-yet-mysterious Cameron Hardy, whose intense baby blue eyes send a nervous flutter through her core. Cameron is sexy, and not in a subtle way. He stimulates Charlie’s art, her intellect and her desires. Just as he begins to break through her emotional boundaries, she discovers a devastating connection between her past and her scandalous work at the mansion, shattering everything she thought to be true.

Provocative, intoxicating and erotic, Seductive Shadows is the unforgettable tale of a young woman’s self-discovery as she learns to forgive, to love and be loved, and to find redemption amidst a remarkable journey that will captivate your mind and stimulate your soul.

“When his eyes met mine again, they didn’t just graze; they dug in and pulled everything out of me, my thoughts and feelings. What if he wasn’t satisfied with what he found underneath—not the woman who could make him come alive with desire and orgasmic suffering, but the broken girl Dallas and the Doctor were trying to heal” –Charlie

Seductive Shadows by Marni Mann follows 23-year-old Charlie as she attempts to get her art degree while taking care of her dying Mother, and dealing with several personal tragedies. One night while working at a hotel, Charlie gets an offer she can’t refuse for a job that will make all her money troubles disappear, but also throw her into a world she doesn’t fully understand.

Mann did an exceptional job with Charlie in this story. I can’t even begin to describe the imagery that her words developed in my mind. When Charlie talked about her art or about what she was creating, the darkness of the picture was clearly painted in my mind. As her art professor said, I could feel her pain. I could feel her excitement and the physical manifestation of it.

As I read through this story I remember feeling sad for Charlie, but also envious of her ability to be so open with her body and sexuality. She’s not afraid to be herself even though she isn’t exactly sure who that person is anymore. We all have a bit of dark and light inside of us and for the past five years, the darkness inside of Charlie has practically taken over. She’s lost and without hope and when she starts working for the Mansion, she’s feels some of that hope and purpose come back.

But things aren’t always what they seem and when a specific person from her past comes into the picture, someone she cared about like family…it changes things. Charlie starts seeing what really happens at the Mansion and it’s not what she expected or what I expected! Also there’s Cameron, who I adore. He really helped heal Charlie’s heart.

There are quite a few surprises in this book, none of which I’ll give away, but seriously, it’s so good. I would absolutely recommend this book, but keep in mind there is a lot of adult content, so if that’s not your thing stay clear.
