I adored this book!

I’ve got to say that The Hazards series by Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of my favorite series and this novella was no exception. The Hazards of Mistletoe was an adorable holiday story that brought us back to Delta Mu and Harrison. Not for a lot of the book, but it was nice that Juliet made a small appearance and then there was Jade too. I really liked Savvy and Glen was great too. I’m such a fan of the way Ivy writes and the world she creates. I really enjoyed the light feel and how Savvy loved the holidays.

There was also one thing about this book that seemed different from the other’s and that was the parents. I actually really enjoyed seeing the parents in this story. I liked Savvy’s grandpa and father, I thought they were awesome. I didn’t love her mom, then again we didn’t learn much about her. But it seemed like she didn’t care too much about Savvy and I loved Savvy so boo on her haha.

Coffee...The Real Thing...

It's no secret that my love for coffee practically rivals other people's love for normal things like their family or you know life. So when I received a box of coffee from Real Cup Brand about a month ago you can imagine how absolutely giddy I was. No joke, when I realized what it was I totally did a mini jig around the living room as I haled the coffee gods. And then I preened over the box for like an hour because it was so pretty.

*points* Come on, look at how pretty that box is and it was huge like I'm talking big. This is an A+ presentation people. The way my coffee looks matters because I'm a shallow girl who likes pretty things...Okay fine I'm not that shallow, but I still like pretty things. Anyhoozer, let's forget the pretty for a minute and talk about all the different kinds of coffee and tea there were!

It claws its way into her life, burning messages into her wall and imprinting them onto her body. Even worse, she can't tell if it's trying to possess her... or  protect her.

May's thoughts soon become actions, causing the target of her anger severe physical pain and giving her a rush the likes of which she has never  experienced. She quickly realizes that she needs to find a way to reign in this power before she kills someone. May hates the pleasure it gives her, hates herself for hurting others, but she can't stop.

As her entire world shatters around her, she is forced to ask what her soul is worth-- and who would she risk losing her soul to save?

I went into reading "Daughter of the Fallen" by Madeline Wynn thinking one thing and came out of it thinking something completely different. What initially interested me in this book was the description and paranormal aspect that it held. However, while I was reading the book, the paranormal parts weren't as enjoyable to me as the other "normal" parts of the main character's life.

"Daughter of the Fallen" centers around the character May, and when we first meet her she's hunting ghosts with her friends for a school project. What could go wrong, right? Wynn starts the action and gives us the paranormal right away with this scene, because May (literally) stumbles upon something that's more than she bargained for when she went out on the hunt, and it starts to take a toll on her daily life. It's not long before she's having nightmares and seeing shadows out of the corner of her eye.

Excerpt:

I led him to the bathroom and turned the shower on. Jaxon silently shredded his clothes and stepped beneath the water. I didn’t hesitate in joining him once my clothes were pooled at my feet. Jaxon hissed as the water came into contact with his busted knuckles and I flinched, hating to see him in pain but I really didn’t remember a time when his knuckles weren’t busted or the skin pink and tender after one of his fights. Pouring his soap I loved so much into my palm I began by washing his back and arms as the warm water cascaded down over us.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered as he turned to face me. “I didn’t mean to lose it like that, but that man made me so wild I just saw blood. He hurt you and that thought eats me alive that I wasn’t there to protect you.”

“Shh.” I hushed him as I circled my arms around his waist. “It’s over now and I can’t disagree that he deserved it.”
