Excerpt:

Quote: I've seen a thousand tears and wiped away none.

His studies my expression and laughs. “What?”

“She has been punished.”

There is no one around to hear what I say. My staff understands discretion on an intimate level, but Mick's voice goes low regardless.

“God,” Mick plows his hand through his hair, “are you still doing the ka-ching!” Mick pantomimes snapping a whip.

“I don't use whips, though it's an excellent suggestion. Not that I need any help in the creative parts.”

Excerpt:

The outdoor style shopping mall is bustling with tourist and local art lovers. Rows of art galleries surround the courtyard where a stage welcomes a local reggae band. Monica settles into a groove and starts dancing with the crowd. Alex tries to hang in for a couple of songs before he starts feeling claustrophobic and looks to the galleries and shops around them.

“Go ahead,” she says with a loving smile. “I’ll meet you down there… after one more song.”

He gives her a little kiss on the cheek and glides his hand across her behind before making his way out of the crowd. His attention is pulled by various pieces in gallery windows along the way. There’s a large glass sea turtle in shades of green and gold followed by a painting of an autumn forest with heavy texture.

Excerpt:

As I sat next to Colin in Organic Chemistry, I wondered if having classes together was actually a good thing.

Unlike my first professor, the Organic Chemistry professor comprehensively explained the syllabus, including course requirements, objectives, policies and assignments. All things I was sure were going to be important in the grand scheme of the course.

And I didn’t hear a word she said.

Once again, I was completely distracted by the man sitting next to me.

We were in another massive classroom dominated by stadium seating. We would, over the course of the semester, split our time between this room and the chemistry lab. There were no spaces between the seats, just a thin metal arm rest jutting out from the spot where the seat backs met each other.

Excerpt:

“Miss.” A hand fell on her shoulder. “Are you all right? Do you need help?”

Ryleigh shook her head and kept walking, stepping carefully in the ridiculous pumps she’d chosen that morning. One shoe snagged on something and pulled free of her foot. She kicked off the other shoe and made her way into the corridor.

A crowd was moving one direction, so Ryleigh joined them. Some cried softly as they trudged through piles of debris. Others helped injured co-workers and friends, and some plowed through everyone in their haste to get out. A big man with a crew cut shoved her aside, and when she reached out to steady herself against the wall, she dropped the cloth she’d had pressed against her head.

I adored this book!

I’ve got to say that The Hazards series by Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of my favorite series and this novella was no exception. The Hazards of Mistletoe was an adorable holiday story that brought us back to Delta Mu and Harrison. Not for a lot of the book, but it was nice that Juliet made a small appearance and then there was Jade too. I really liked Savvy and Glen was great too. I’m such a fan of the way Ivy writes and the world she creates. I really enjoyed the light feel and how Savvy loved the holidays.

There was also one thing about this book that seemed different from the other’s and that was the parents. I actually really enjoyed seeing the parents in this story. I liked Savvy’s grandpa and father, I thought they were awesome. I didn’t love her mom, then again we didn’t learn much about her. But it seemed like she didn’t care too much about Savvy and I loved Savvy so boo on her haha.

Coffee...The Real Thing...

It's no secret that my love for coffee practically rivals other people's love for normal things like their family or you know life. So when I received a box of coffee from Real Cup Brand about a month ago you can imagine how absolutely giddy I was. No joke, when I realized what it was I totally did a mini jig around the living room as I haled the coffee gods. And then I preened over the box for like an hour because it was so pretty.

*points* Come on, look at how pretty that box is and it was huge like I'm talking big. This is an A+ presentation people. The way my coffee looks matters because I'm a shallow girl who likes pretty things...Okay fine I'm not that shallow, but I still like pretty things. Anyhoozer, let's forget the pretty for a minute and talk about all the different kinds of coffee and tea there were!
