First off props on the title it has the same name as one of my favorite Metallica songs. Second I am tickled pink that Riley Ross continued Mike and Juliet’s story!

I adore them and they are seriously the cutest newlyweds ever. Elaine is as unpleasant as ever, but I actually felt bad for her during the dinner scene in chapter one. She was terrible to Jules, but Mark really screamed at her, which was both funny and sad.

It’s nice that Jules can get along with Mike’s Dad and grandma, I wish Elaine would cut her some slack though. If all else fails she can always…’Beat the bitch down’ *snickers* I will never get over that. Best line ever.

The Spectrum of Happy Endings By Thea Landen
Most romances end “happily ever after” (HEA). It makes sense – we’ve invested so much time and emotion into the main characters getting together, we can feel cheated if we don’t get the resolution we want by the end. But what makes a happy ending? Are there different flavors of HEA? If the characters don’t get the HEA we’ve been rooting for, is that really such a bad thing?

The first (and perhaps most common) is your standard HEA, where the characters have successfully fallen in love and ride off into the sunset together. We the readers breathe a sigh of relief when we realize that they’ll continue to walk together through life hand in hand beyond the last page of words. It fills us with the warm fuzzies.

There’s nothing particularly exceptional or thought-provoking about this type of ending, but you’re also not going to have your readers coming after you with pitchforks because they’re not satisfied. Some readers only want to read stories with a fluffy HEA, and there’s nothing wrong with that, considering how real life is filled with plenty of scenarios that don’t have a happy ending.

The Story of Rachel was not what I expected, but despite my misconceptions it was a cute story. Hm, maybe cute isn’t exactly the word for it. It was pretty racy. I thought Rachel was a good character she’s slightly naïve but in a sweet way, not an annoying way. There was a definite connection between Rachel and Michael and I thought their first meeting at the erotic art show and consequent dinner was extremely hot.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know you wanted to be a writer?

It was my mother’s undoing. I used to lie to her ridiculously when I was six and seven. For my punishment, after my whipping, she would have me write the lie down. I found that the lies sounded so much better written out and I could add so much depth to them. My pain became my pleasure and I’ve been a writer ever since.

What inspires most of your novels?

Actual real life incidents or situations I hear or read about. Detroit, where most of my stories take place, is a very interesting place where a fiction writer just couldn’t make this stuff up, I swear.

I don’t even know where to start. This book wasn’t what I was expecting at all, but it was still incredibly interesting. I can’t say I’ve ever read anything like this before, which gives it definite points over the other things I’ve read lately. Confidante: The Brothel, the first book in the series, follows Angelien through a month as a prostitute in a brothel.
